Kagisho Dikgacoi has denied asking to leave Fulham following tabloid reports that he was unhappy at Craven Cottage.
The News of the World suggested on Sunday that the South African midfielder had demanded first team football having failed to make Roy Hodgson’s starting line-up of late. The 25 year-old insisted to the Sowetan that he had not asked for a loan and told Hodgson that the claims were entirely false.
“There is absolutely no truth in what has been written about me in that report. I have not mentioned anything of the sort to any journalist. I have, on the contrary, played in two of our last two matches as a substitute, and featured in midweek games for the reserve side as well.”
Dikgacoi is looking forward to South Africa’s home World Cup this summer and believes that Bafana Bafana can get out of a group that includes France, Mexico and Uruguay.
“All the teams that have qualified are good, there is nothing like an easy group. We are playing at home, so we have to do well. It is taking place in Africa for the first time, so it is important for an African team to feature in the final.”
