I must have missed the official announcement but, like many other Fulham fans I’m sure, I’m delighted that our old centre back Kit Symons is back at the club as Fulham’s new senior scout and Academy coach.

Symons played 129 games in his three years at Craven Cottage often popping up with crucial goals from the back. He played in two promotion-winning sides as Fulham went from Division Two to the Premier League before joining Crystal Palace in December 2001. Symons has been assistant manager with the Eagles but has been doing some scouting with Fulham for a while, as I met him at our pre-season friendly at AFC Wimbledon in the summer.
