Brian McBride is considering his future with Chicago Fire after his side were knocked out of the MLS Cup last weekend.

The former Fulham captain may opt to stay with the Fire and has pretty much ruled out a return to England. Fulham tried to tempt their former striker back to Craven Cottage on loan last Christmas, only for the MLS side to quickly rebuff those plans.

I’m not going to be going anywhere else in MLS. We will see what happens with MLS.

For me and my family, that [returning to England] would be a pretty difficult move. We have to think about our livelihood, of course, but I would say that would be pretty hard to do.

McBride admitted he was disappointed to be knocked out of the MLS Cup by Real Salt Lake in the Eastern Conference final.

We didn’t get where we wanted to. It wasn’t a bad season, just not exactly what we hoped it would be. We started off well, and the finish I would love for it to go better, but it only happens that way for one team.
