Diomansy Kamara goes under the knife this evening in a bid to clear up a knee problem – and is expected to be out for three weeks.

Cautious Fulham boss Roy Hodgson doesn’t expect his Senegalese striker back until the away game at Burnley on December 12 until the earliest.

It means that with Andy Johnson only just now ready to return after his persistent shoulder injury – the Whites are down to just two out-and-out strikers who are match fit – and even Erik Nevland wasn’t able ti play in the 1-0 defeat at Birmingham on Saturday.

Hodgson added: “The doctors say two weeks for Joe (Kamara) but you can always add another one on top to be on the safe side. But at least I hope it gives him the chance to clear up a combination of a problem with a floating bone, coupled with some old scar tissue from a previous injury.”
