Hurrah for common sense. Bob Bradley has released Clint Dempsey from the United States squad to play Denmark in a friendly on Wednesday and the midfielder will be returning to Fulham earlier than expected from international duty.
Dempsey, who already has a heavy year of international commitments behind him, looked utterly exhausted in the second half of the USA’s defeat in Slovakia on Saturday. I was surprised to still see him on the pitch – Fulham will be hoping he can continue his good recent run of form in our next couple of games, which look winnable on paper, beginning at Birmingham on Saturday.
