Fulham legend George Cohen believes Bobby Zamora can come through his sticky spell to become a leading goalscorer.

The former West Ham forward came in for criticism during a difficult first season at Craven Cottage and has scored only three times this term, before being mocked for missing an open goal against Manchester City.

But World Cup winner Cohen told the Daily Mirror that he is no doubt as to Zamora’s quality:

“The miss was bad but Bobby has kept showing for the ball and has scored since. He has all the attributes needed to play up front and be a successful in the Premier League. He has pace, reads the game well and I think if he can maintain his concentration he’ll score lots more goals for Fulham. I see no reason why we can’t get into Europe again. Roy has shown faith in him and he’ll come good, of that I am sure.”
