Reports from Italy suggest that Francesco Totti will miss Roma’s Europa League tie against Fulham on Thursday with a knee injury.

Roma’s talisman picked up the injury before the recent international break and will watch tonight’s Serie A clash with Milan from the sidelines. The 33-year-old had a scan on his knee yesterday and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that he is certain to miss the game at Craven Cottage and could well be out of Roma’s next league fixture against Livorno as well.

Totti has had long-term problems with his knee and was operated on in April 2008. His badly swollen knee will be monitored over the course of the next week to assess when Totti can return to action. Surgeon Professor Pierpaolo Mariani said that the ligament was now fine but he couldn’t rule out a keyhole procedure.
