Danny Murphy will discover today whether the knee injury he picked up against Hull last night will keep him out of Thursday’s clash with AS Roma in the Europa League.

The Fulham captain will get a clearer picture on the seriousness of the injury today once the swelling in his knee has eased. He picked up the injury when trying to turn his man at a throw-in and the crude kick on his knee was ignored by Martin Atkinson.

Roy Hodgson hopes the injury isn’t too serious.

We hope it’s not too serious. We will have to wait and see how it settles down overnight. As he back-heeled the ball he got a kick and it’s jarred the knee.

Hodgson was happy with his side’s performance last night.

We thought we could get better in the second half so the first goal changed nothing from a tactical point of view, although the mood did. I wasn’t unhappy with the team and would have expected them to keep playing the same way.
