Stefano Guberti insists Roma deserved their draw at Fulham last night in the Europa League and believes the result was achieved through the Giallorossi’s never-say-die attitude.

Brede Hangeland’s header looked to have claimed three crucial Europa League points for Fulham but the Whites were pegged back by Marco Andreolli’s late equaliser. The Roma winger hailed his side’s resolve and says he feels a lot stronger having been given a rare start after impressing as a substitute in Sunday’s defeat by AC Milan.

It was a deserved draw. They did better than us in the first half, but we had a great second period. I think it was all down to our mentality. We didn’t want to surrender.

It is an important point, we are happy and will keep down this road.

Yes, I am feeling fine and little by little I am gaining more confidence. I just have to be ready when called upon.
