Apologies for the lack of updates from me for the last couple of days. We’ve had a few computer problems. My trusty laptop, which has travelled everywhere with me since before I started university, looks as if it’s finally given up the ghost and this is the first opportunity I’ve had to update the site in a couple of days. Thanks to Lydia for keeping you all entertained in the meantime.

This is seriously good news. Like all Fulham fans, I continue to be amazed at just how good a job Roy Hodgson has done down by the Thames. He’s taken a club that looked destined for the drop – and the unpredictable future that seems to face relegated sides in the Championship these days – into Europe, and as we’ve mentioned in the last week or so, quietly built a much deeper squad than there’s been in many years at the Cottage. Quite a few of us were alarmed that Fulham hadn’t tied Roy down to a long-term deal, especially given the job he’s done and the fact that his current contract is due to expire at the end of the season. I’m sure he’s finally got his fair share of admirers in this country.

The story, that I first noticed when thumbing through somebody else’s copy of the sub-Standard on the tube, doesn’t actually contain any firm quotes from anyone at Fulham but it’s a good sign that we feel confident enough of retaining Hodgson’s services. Hopefully, he’ll be in charge of Fulham’s development for many years to come.
