After a bit of a delay – caused by Greater Manchester Police, apparently – Manchester City and Fulham have an agreed a date for their League Cup tie. The third round game will be played on Wednesday 23 September at the City of Manchester Stadium, with an 8pm kick-off.

Hopefully we can continue our good form at the City of Manchester Stadium!!
Just to emphasize what Lydia’s saying here’s our record at the City of Manchester Stadium:
Played: 6
Won: 3
Drawn: 2
Lost: 1

Forgive me for being fearful, but I think we might lose this one.
Although arguably it represents our best chance of winning anything, the League Cup (I refuse to call it by the name of a very disappointing beer) will be the lowest of Roy’s priorities this season. A mixture of kids and reserves could get ripped apart by Sparky’s version of the Harlem Globetrotters.
Thats a fair point, Dan as I think if we try for all competitions, we will lose them all!
Fulham winning everything only happens when I’m in charge on Football Manager! 😉
That made me chuckle out loud there, Jamie.
Citeh are taking it seriously this season. The team they put out against Palace was full of their stars. I very much doubt we will have more than two or three of what we consider first team players.
I must admit though I can’t recall us getting this far in the league cup too often!
My League Cup memories are very similar to yours Alan. I’m still getting over that defeat to Leicester at Filbert Street!
