Almost as soon as the transfer window sloammed shut last night, stories appeared claiming that Fulham had missed out on their main deadline day target.

Sky Sports led the way claiming that the Whites failed to land Jeremie Aliadiere from Middlesbrough on loan because Boro’s bid to lure Rob Hulse to the Riverside fell through. There was some speculation that the Frenchman was the man Roy had been after all summer, as we had been heavily linked with Aliadiere since shortly after Middlesbrough were relegation last season.

However, a Fulham spokesman denied the reports, saying that ‘no deal was in place’ to bring Aliadiere to the Cottage.
