Casting the transfer window to one side for a moment (and let’s face it, nothing very exciting has really happened on deadline day yet), some interesting news at one of our Europa League opponents this lunchtime.

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has resigned after they lost their first two matches in Serie A. He couldn’t be scared of the mighty Fulham, could he?

I handed in my resignation and Roma accepted it instantly.

It seems as though Claudio Ranieri, the former Chelsea coach who was sacked by Juventus at the end of last season, will be named as Spalletti’s successor by the end of today.
