In some more Europa League-related news, it looks like CSKA Sofia have abandoned one of the most interesting transfer experiments of recent years.

Over the summer, Fulham’s Group E Europa League opponents announced that they would now only be playing with Bulgarian players. But their willpower quickly ran out. They closed the transfer window by signing a Brazilian striker and two Paraguayans. The U-turn couldn’t have had anything to do with poor performances on the pitch as CSKA having won all four of their leagues matches so far, without conceding a goal.

Fulham will certainly find them difficult to beat.
