Regular readers will know just how much I loved Micky Adams. His first full season in charge at Fulham was probably my most memorable ever – and, if you haven’t already, you should relive the glory through the brilliant book by Martin Plumb and Ken Coton.
Micky had a great start at Port Vale but has employed a novel motivational technique after the 3-1 defeat at Notts County: putting his whole squad up for sale. Adams is a passionate man and demands full commitment from his players. That’s one of the reasons why his Fulham side were so unexpectedly successful. Let’s hope Vale can bounce back quickly against Accrington in midweek.
