John Pantsil reckons Fulham will recover quickly from their derby defeat to Chelsea by qualifying for the group stages of the Europa League in Russia on Thursday.

Roy Hodgson’s side were below par in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Craven Cottage but Pantsil thinks his team-mates have the mental strength to put that behind them and carve out a result against Amkar Perm. Fulham lead 3-1 from the first leg.

We’re all professionals and we know what we want to achieve. In football you can win and you can lose so I don’t think the defeat is going to affect us so much. We have to put it behind us.

We’ve worked hard (to get into Europe), and now it’s time for us to go out to Russia and deliver because Perm are a very good team. When they came here they played well and they got that away goal, which could make it tricky for us.

They defended well and played good football but we want to get through to the group stages and that’s what we’re aiming for.
