Erik Nevland bagged a brace tonight as the Fulham reserves put five past Walton Casuals in an easy win in their latest pre-season friendly.

Dutch striker Danny Hoesen put the Whites ahead with a measured finish to a fine team move midway through the first half before Eddie Johnson doubled the lead with a fine strike from outside the area.

Nevland notched his first of the evening after the break thanks to a typically assured finish and he hooked in a fourth for Fulham, finishing impressively after some a lovely link-up between Alex Smith and Luca Moscatiello. Matthew Saunders put the finishing touch to an excellent performance with a late free-kick.

The game was something of a family affair with Craig Lewington, the son of Fulham coach Ray, captaining the home side.

The reserves (or the Development Squad as club seem to have reverted back to calling them) finish their pre-season preparations with a friendly against the Uzbekistani Under-20 side at Motspur Park on Tuesday (kick off: 1pm) and then face Arsenal on Monday 24 August (in a game at Underhill, the home of Barnet FC, kick off: 7pm) in their first league fixture of the season.

FULHAM XI (4-4-2): Etheridge; Stoor, Anderson, Briggs, Smalling; Saunders, Hoesen, Moscatiello, Smith; E. Johnson, Nevland.
