Fulham captain Danny Murphy today put pen to paper on a new two-year contract that will keep him at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2011.

Murphy, signed from Tottenham in 2007, was one of Fulham’s most consistent performances as the Whites reached a record league high of seventh in the Premier League to qualify for Europe in May. His signature on this new contract reflects his earlier public statements that he would like to finish his career with Fulham.

Murphy is rated as a doubt for Thursday’s Europa League second leg against Amkar Perm after picking up an injury in a challenge with Ricardo Carvalho on Sunday.
