Adrian Leijer’s two-year Fulham nightmare is over after he agreed to rejoin Melbourne Victory.

The Australian centre back was brought to Craven Cottage by Lawrie Sanchez in the summer of 2007 after starring in the Victory’s first A-League title success but never made a first-team appearance for the Whites having fell down the pecking order after Roy Hodgson replaced Sanchez in December 2007. His also taste of English football came on loan at Norwich but even that wasn’t a happy experience as the Canaries were relegated from the Championship.

It is unclear at the moment whether the deal for Leijer is a permanent one or not but it seems fairly certain that he doesn’t have much of a future at Fulham.
