The Daily Mirror says that Roy Hodgson is keen on signing Jan Novak as a direct replacement for the injured Andy Johnson.
They claim that Fulham had scouts watching the Slovakian striker in action for Kosice tonight and that the Whites are preparing a £2m bid. Novak seems a versatile player as he can operate on either flank or as an orthodox centre forward.
The number of times we’ve been linked to relatively unheralded strikers makes me doubt this one for some reason. Whether we can forget about signing Marc Janko is something of a moot point. Both the Austrian striker’s agent and his manager at Salzburg have rubbished reports that he is about to leave the club. But tomorrow morning’s papers apparently have Bolton trying to hijack our move for Janko. So we’ll have to wait and see.
