Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is poised to sign Austria international striker Marc Janko in a season-long loan deal, according to the Daily Mail.

The 6ft 5ins striker was in the Red Bull Salzburg side that crashed out of the Champions League on Tuesday night and his club have reluctantly agreed to let him go with view to a permanent £6m deal next summer.

Janko has been watched by Celtic, Manchester City and Blackburn over the past year and scored 39 goals in 34 games last season.

The deal will represent a coup for Hodgson, who is also tracking Genk striker Elyaniv Barda.
