The Irish Times is reporting that Newcastle’s Damien Duff should complain his move to Fulham tomorrow.
They say that the Republic of Ireland winger successfully completed his medical today and expects to finalise the transfer. Significantly, they also suggest that Duff has agreed to take a 30 per cent pay cut in his rumoured £60,000 a week wages to return to the Premier League and team up with Roy Hodgson, who gave him his top flight breakthrough at Blackburn back in 1997.
The signing of Duff could solve Fulham’s longstanding left sided problem as the Whites haven’t had a natural left-winger since Luis Boa Morte left for West Ham.
Delighted by this news. I really thought wages would be a stumbling block and we’ll fall short of signing a quality player. Feel he can make a real difference to the team this season and he’ll be motivated as well. Damien will want to prove he can still cut it in the Premiership and show he’s still worth a place in the Ireland team in a World Cup year.
Yep, I would be very happy with this. He will bring alot of experience to the team.
Potentialy a good signing provided he can stay fit.
