The mystery of Wayne Brown’s absence from the squad profiles on the offal seems to have ben solved.
It looks like the TPS fans, who so took to Wayne during his loan spell, have got their wish. According to a post on TIFF, Brown discussed his situation with Roy Hodgson yesterday and it has been agreed that Brown will return to Finland on loan until October.
We have yet to see an official announcement from the club.
Thanks for the catch, Dan. I’ve been avoiding TIFF lately not because of content but aesthetics. The messageboard is impossible to read!
We love him, thank you Fulham!

There is only one wayne brown! If it’s true that wayne is coming back, there is only one thing i can say, WELCOME BACK WAYNE!
Got to agree with Lydia. Browny’s hot stuff. Probably the best looking Fulham player since Carlos Bocanegra.

*swoon*
(Sorry Dan).
haha yes I like him to!! Nice picture lol
Wayne Brown looks remarkably like Arshavin IMO. Think he could become a useful player for us – would like to see him get a game or two this season, although with the influx of new midfielders, he probably won’t get a chance. Shame, as think he and Milsom could do well. Saunders too looks like a Roy-type of CM.
That’s a great shout re. Arshavin there Nick. From what I’ve seen of Wayne (and it’s only been reserve games and that dismal defeat on penalties in Bristol that I imagine you were at too – being at uni in Exeter that was like a home game for me!), I’ve been really impressed. I hope he gets a chance to breakthrough but fear that all these new signings might have been the reason he extended his loan.
Milsom is also a good prospect and the way that Roy talked about his broken leg in one of the pre-match interviews on the offal it seemed he was close to getting a chance in the first team. Saunders has been playing on the right for the reserves in pre-season as well so he seems pretty versatile.
I was at Bristol Uni until June, so I was indeed there (and was heartlessly mocked by my fellow-students who came along). Thought he looked pretty sharp in that game, although tired quickly. Seen Milsom a couple of times, once at LB and once at CM, both times he looked very comfortable. Etheridge (Phillipines No.1!) too really impressed me when I saw him. Now I’m back in London I’m hoping to head to a lot more reserve games and see how our youngsters are doing.
Milsom I reckon would have played a couple of games towards the end of the season, especially as a sub CM, but fear his chance, like that of Brown, has been severely reduced this season by the influx of new midfielders. If KG and Greening sign, Roy will have bought an entire midfield this summer (Riise, Dikagcoi, Greening, Duff). Pleased that we’re adding depth, but fear for the prospects of our youngsters.
Yes, I had a bit of ribbing from the mates I took along to that game as well, but being a Fulham fan, I’m used to it, of course!
Brown did well in that game and has looked good whenever else I’ve seen him. Milsom looks very adaptable – he can play LM as well although the signing of Duff may reduce his opportunities to play there. Etheridge is supposed to be a very promising talent too.
It would be disappointing if our new midfielders block the way for these youngsters but I trust in Roy. It’s not inconceivable that they might get a chance in the Cups or a couple of league games. You could argue that if they were good enough they should be able to break into the squad in any case although that might be a bit harsh.
