Although he was coy on the proposed bid from Everton for Dempsey and denied that he had heard of any interest from the blue half of Merseyside, Dempsey’s agent Lyle Yorks said that, on the back of the midfielder’s fine display in the Confederations Cup, he had been receiving interest in the Fulham midfielder.
There’s nothing serious. But he has interest in Spain, Germany, England and from a team in France.
Forgive me for being cynical here, but this could well be part of a masterplan from Dempsey’s team to secure him a lucrative contract offer. It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book. Suggest that your client is considering good offers from elsewhere and suddenly their current club puts together a much more attractive contract offer.
