I’m a little puzzled by this one.
Kevin Doyle’s preferences are his own business and you can’t argue with someone who wants to make the step up from the Championship to the top flight again. I always thought Fulham’s interest was a little bit surprising as I felt Hodgson had a few more closely-guarded targets than Doyle, who seems to be actively being touted around for transfer.
What surprises me is that, last I heard, Sunderland aren’t willing to match Reading £6.5m valuation. Watch this space.
