Mark Schwarzer says he was absolutely delighted with how his first season at Fulham went.

The Australian goalkeeper made the decision to move to Craven Cottage on a free transfer last summer after eleven seasons with Middlesbrough and admitted that his first campaign in the Fulham goal was one of the most enjoyable of his career.

Schwarzer said: “It is probably one of the most enjoyable [seasons], the most satisfying overall. It is nice to move on and prove yourself all over again. You can’t take anything for granted whatsoever. For me, it has been very rewarding and very refreshing to make the move. I am delighted with the way it has panned out.”

The 36 year-old will now have the opportunity to make an impression in Europe again having reached the final of the UEFA Cup with Middlesbrough during his time at the Riverside Stadium.
