I must say I was surprised to read that Fulham were planning to shell out £3m on Bristol City’s Marvin Elliott. Whilst his tall stature would indicate that he might be a possible deputy for Dickson Etuhu, the vast outlay of money on somebody who played just 28 games last season seems excessive.
Roy might be able to get something more out of him (a la Etuhu), so I guess we will just have to watch and see how this one pans out. It could all be paper talk.
Three Million for unproven midfield player is sheer lunacy, look what we got for £5 Million with a “proven?” Striker? in Bobby Zamora – who has never got goals above the second flight of football
Sorry, but i don’t know what planet some of you people live on.
I mean how much money do you think you can get away with paying for a squad player these days???
You can’t just pay £300,000 for a back up anymore.
This is the cost of football in this country now. We have to get used to the fact that if you want a player and you’re a premiership club, these are the price tags you’re going to come up against.
Actually, some players are free mate…and better ones that Elliot!
We sold Bullard for 5 million – and that was considered a good deal. How can a no name from the coke league be worth 3? He’s not exactly set the world alight after 6-7 years as a pro has he?
