Striker Tuncay Sanli could be the first big name to lead a summer exodus from Middlesbrough, with Fulham expressing an interest in the Turkey forward.
Tuncay’s eight goals and contribution to Middlesbrough’s failed fight to avoid relegation ensured that the 27-year-old was named the club’s player of the season.
Fulham need to bolster their squad after qualification for Europe, especially with Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson scoring only nine Barclays Premier League goals between them last season.
Arsenal were among the clubs to be interested in Tuncay after his performance in the Confederations Cup in 2003, but he joined Middlesbrough, where he has two years left on his contract, having signed on a free transfer from Fenerbahçe in 2007.
