We seem to be pretty popular in the Daily Mirror this week. The latest story links Fulham with a move for Aston Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell.
The paper says that Roy Hodgson is tracking the midfielder, who hasn’t set the world alight at Villa Park and may be allowed to leave after just a single season under Martin O’Neill. Sidwell enjoyed a similarly frustrating spell with Chelsea having elected to leave Reading after an impressive debut season in the top flight.
The report also mentions that we are still keen on Middlesbrough’s Gary O’Neill, although things seem to have gone a bit quiet on that transfer.
I would really like to see this. One of the more underappreciated players over the past few seasons IMO, and I think he could be good enough to start for us (or Villa, for that matter).
