There it is. We will have a summer without constant links to Saami Hyypia. The Finnish defender, rumoured to be on Fulham’s radar for what seems like decades, has decided to end a long and successful spell at Liverpool by joining Bayer Leverkusen in the summer. A quality defender who has still got plenty to offer – just a shame we couldn’t have snapped him up a couple of years ago. Mind you, it’s not as if we were playing at a similar level to Liverpool.
I’m not sure how trustworthy this source is but apparently the new target is Souleymane Diawara. I don’t remember him pulling up any trees in a spell with Charlton a couple of years ago – in fact I seem to recall him being singled out for criticism. I’d love to know how they managed to witness Roy’s anger too.
