There was little of it to be found in today’s final, even if Louis Saha’s very early thunderbolt threatened to throw Chelsea off their stride and grabbed a piece of history for our old friend.
Hidden in today’s Daily Mail was a lovely little article by Jeff Powell, recalling the day he sat on the Fulham bench as the Whites went to Wembley. A journalist simply wouldn’t get that close to the action these days. Nobody will need reminding of the outcome that day, but it’s worth reading to hear all about the great Bobby Moore’s mischevious ways.
