David Moyes says he’s full of admiration for the achievements of Roy Hodgson at Fulham – and remembers just how kind the Cottagers boss was when he was studying for his UEFA pro licence.

Roy has done a brilliant job in turning them round from last season. It just shows what good management and good organisation can achieve.

The pair’s friendship dates back eight years to when the now Everton manager was studying for his pro licence.

When I was doing my pro licence I had to study a European club and I chose Udinese where Roy was the manager at the time. He made me really welcome and looked after me, he made sure I was involved.
