The Mirror reckons that Roy Hodgson is ready to table a bid for Stockport County’s young striker Oli Johnson.

It would complete an unbelievable rise for Johnson, 21, who was playing his football for Nostell Miners until last October. Cash-strapped County, who are in administration, are open to offers for their young squad.

Johnson has scored six goals for Stockport this season – including this beauty against Cheltenham Town.

My only worry would be whether we’d be building a team of Johnsons. That would be Eddie, Andy and Oli – all of whom are strikers.
