Fulham show little sign of dropping out of the race to sign Stockport striker Oli Johnson.

Johnson, 21, had been training with County team-mate Josh Thompson with a view to a permanent move. Fulham are also interested, though, and the forward is set to go on trial with the Premier League club. Huddersfield Town are also still believed to be keen on signing Johnson too.

Having been playing for Nostell Miners Welfare at the start of last season, a move would complete a whirlwind few months for young Johnson, who finished the season with five goals in 23 appearances having broken into the Stockport side. County are in deep financial trouble and it is thought that the funds freed up by Johnson’s sale could prove vital to their survival.
