Fulham are one of a number of clubs interested in snaring Inter Milan striker Julio Cruz.

The Argentine international has already indicated that he will leave the San Siro at the end of the season having been largely used as a substitute this term. Cruz, 34, is not short of offers, however. Betis and Espanyol have already offered him contracts, whilst Blackburn have reportedly made ‘the Gardener,’ which surely must qualify as one of the better football nicknames (Cruz was a groundsman before his talent was spotted by Banfield), one of their top targets to replace the want-away Roque Santa Cruz.

Cruz’s agent said:

I must admit that French, English and Spanish clubs are interested in the player.

Indeed, they [Betis and Espanyol] have made offers, and he has also received other ones because his contract is expiring and he is highly rated in Europe.

Julio is not thinking of returning to Argentina. He wants to carry on in Europe.
