Interesting to read the thoughts of a Manchester City fan over at Bitter and Blue. Mark Hughes has come in for plenty of criticism already after the game yesterday and there’s the inevitable – although, probably inaccurate – speculation about his future.
They aren’t too happy at The Lonesome Death of Roy Carroll (what a wonderful name for a blog) either. The fact that three of our eight away league wins since the start of 2005-06 have been at the City of Manchester City stadium gets a mention there too.
I do hope City get through on Thursday and go on to have an improved campaign next season. Every time I’ve been to watch Fulham at City (be it at Maine Road or at their new stadium), I’ve had a great day win or lose. The pre and post-match drinks with the City fans have always been good fun and they strike me as a knowledge football crowd. They have loyal, long-suffering fans – witness their gates when they dropped into the Second Divisoon a few years ago – who deserve more than false dawns.
You forgot to include this review, which included this gem:

‘Fulham were poor; City were awful!’
I think that’s pretty harsh and bitter to be honest. I felt we were excellent for the first 20 minutes and outplayed them in the second half. You have to be fairly blinkered to call us poor in my opinion.
Yeah, I think it is a bit harsh. Felt we played really well in the second half. It’s not our fault if we made City look poor – their defence was particularly dodgy.
