I think by now everyone is agreed that Roy should make the purchase of at least one striker a priority in the transfer window. Fulham are apparently amongst a whole host of clubs taking a closer look at Guinea striker Ismael Bangoura.

Bangoura has had a fine season in the Ukraine, where he is currently the joint top scorer, having found the net 27 times in 41 appearances for Dynamo Kiev. He has a useful record at international level, too, scoring 19 goals in 31 matches for Guinea. Bangoura has proved a real hit with the Dynamo fans since signing for €5m in 2007.

He started his career with the French side AJ Ajaccio, scoring 15 times in 44 league games before moving onto Le Mans. He scored 18 goals in 56 league appearances for them before an impressive 2006-07 season sealed a move to the Ukraine. Kiev are expected to cash in on one of their major assets at the end of the season and the competition will be fierce.

Bangoura has already acknowledged that Wigan are interested in his services, telling Sky Sports:

Wigan Athletic are a good team, they are doing well in the league – however there also other teams looking at me in the Premier League, according to my agent.

Tottenham, Everton and Aston Villa are also thought to be watching Bangoura closely.
