Buoyed by our fabulous win over Manchester United yesterday afternoon, Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has challenged his team mates to push on and try and claim a European spot.

Schwarzer, who was in fine form to keep United at bay at the Cottage yesterday, has been delighted with Fulham’s performances this season but reckons that the Whites should be targeting a top-half finish with eight games to go.

When you think about what Fulham went through last season, to be where we are at this stage of the season is a credit to everyone at the club. All we want to try and do now is finish in the top half of the table and make it into a very, very good season for us. Anything’s possible.

Depending on which sides reach the FA Cup final in May, seventh place could bring European football. Despite both West Ham and Wigan getting results yesterday, seventh place certainly isn’t out of reach for Fulham.

I’m hoping for two of the top four teams to be in the FA Cup final so another place goes to the position in the league, and that opens it up for a lot of teams around us to vie for those extra positions for the Uefa Cup. If we can continue this sort of form in the upcoming games who knows what will happen.
