Roy Hodgson praised his players after they recorded their first away win of the season with a fine 3-1 win at the Reebok Stadium this afternoon.
The Fulham manager was especially delighted with the way his midfield and strikers performed and went as far as he would go to admitting that our relegation worries might just be receeding.
Sometimes we have played quite well away from home and the luck hasn’t been on our side, but it is important to keep going.
I’ve known all along we’ve got a win in us away from home and I thought today the enormous number of chances we created needed some very fine work from Jussi Jaaskelainen to keep us at bay.
In the end we got the goals and that’s what counts and 37 points sounds an awful lot better than 35
We actually conceded a goal once again in that one minute added on for injuries or whatever, it was a real slap in the face for us.
But I thought the players did ever so well to come back from that because that type of slap in the face, especially coming after the week we had, it could have put us off our game and gone out and played much worse in the second half.
Luckily they got over that in the half-time interval and went out and played the same way in the second-half as we did in the first and got the two goals I thought we deserved.
