I don’t subscribe to the ‘never go back rule,’ but perhaps Micky Adams will wish he hadn’t returned to Brighton now.

It’s been tough for him with the Seagulls and he’s never quite been able to repeat the feat of his first spell in charge. A real shame – because I warmed to Micky when he was a young manager at Fulham – and felt he was harshly dispensed with by MAF. He’s always been kind in his dealings with me since (we did two interviews with him at Leicester and Brighton) and I really hope that he can fulfil the promise he showed in those early days at the Cottage. He deserves it.
