Turning our thoughts away from the Bullard saga that’s dominated today, I wonder what sort of side Hodgson will be tempted to field against Kettering in the Cup tomorrow. Our defeat at West Ham on Sunday makes our trip to Sunderland on Tuesday night a massive game. I really can’t see Roy risking too many of the players who would be deemed starters for that game so I guess we’ll see a few of the boys with a point to prove.
How about this for a line-up?

Stoor —- Hughes —- Baird — Konchesky
Gera —- Andreasen — Brown —– Gray
———-Nevland ——-Zamora ———-
We should have enough quality with that team to see off a non-league side, but it’ll be a battle there’s no doubt about that.
I like the idea of giving Wayne Brown a run out. Always sounds like a player with real potential when you read the reserve game reports.
I’ve seen a few reserve games this year and Brown’s looked really good. There’s obviously a big difference between that level and the top flight but he’s got all the attributes to be a good midfielder. Giving him a game in the Cup might be a way to nurture his talent.
Not for me – this is an opportunity and we have let too many of these slip by in the past. Play a squad stronger that that above and lets get through into the next round. A win is a win and raises confidence no matter who you are playing. I am not against a couple of fringe players in the starting line up, with more on the bench should we take a comfortable lead.
My team, Schwarzer, Pantsil, Konchesky, Hangeland, Hughes, Gera, Murphy, Gray, Etuhu, Johnson, Nevland.
GET THE JOB DONE, and GET OUTTA THERE, and see who we get in the next round.
