Finally there’s word on when we’ll play the defending champions Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The game, originally scheduled for August, was postponed because it would have clashed with United’s Super Cup game with Zenit St. Petersburg in Monaco. The delay in rearranging the match occurred because of a disagreement between the two sides about when it should be rescheduled. With United still in the Champions’ League and the Carling Cup as well as travelling to Japan to play in the World Club Cup over the Christmas period, satisfactory dates were few and far between.
As someone who really enjoys our trips to Manchester, I was hoping to do this game but the midweek date seems to have scuppered that plan. United’s official website have confirmed that the game will be played on Tuesday 17 February with an 8pm kick off.
