Mark Schwarzer has urged his Fulham team-mates to take their excellent league form to Sheffield Wednesday and secure a rare away win in the FA Cup.

After Sunday’s dramatic 2-2 with Chelsea, the Whites are unbeaten in nine but are still yet to win away from Craven Cottage this season. The trip to Hillsborough could be seen as a banana skin, especially as Fulham have been on the receiving end of a few Cup shocks in recent years, but the Australian goalkeeper says their minds are well and truly on the FA Cup clash.

We’re taking it very seriously. The FA Cup gives you an opportunity to try and qualify for Europe and win a major trophy. It’s the number one cup competition in the world. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been involved in some very good FA Cup runs, they’re great fun and we need to continue our form.

We saw the final last year being between Portsmouth and Cardiff, I don’t think anyone would have put money on that being the final at the start of the season – or that two Championship sides would be in the semi-final. So it’s open for everyone.
