Seems to be the season to say nice things about Roy Hodgson.

Match of the Day might have been only able to squeeze in a few words about our performance the other night, but at least they were complimentary.

This blog (which I hadn’t seen before) offers a pretty on-the-button appraisal of our performances and our manager.

His vast managerial experience in Europe and wealth of football knowledge allowed him to make some astute signings such as centre back, Brede Hangland. The Norwegian has proved a great signing and was a key part of their survival in the Premiership last season.

And a Canadian journalist offers some effusive praise.

Forget about the collection of veteran English gaffers – Harry Redknapp, Sam Allardyce and the other managerial fossils – who bounce around between Premiership clubs year after year, and are still living off of their inflated reputations.

Hodgson has no equal amongst his countrymen. What Hodgson has accomplished with Fulham is nothing short of a miracle on par with the loaves and the fishes.

It probably also helps that he’s a genuinely nice guy. Whatever the reason, it’s nice to be lauded by the more intelligent quarters of the media.
