The Mirror is reporting that we’ve sent our scouts to have a look at the Leeds teenager Fabian Delph.
Apparently, Roy Hodgson sees him as a long-term replacement for Jimmy Bullard. It is by no means certain that Leeds will be willing to sell – they would want to keep their best players to put their faltering promotion bid back on track – or that we would be at the front of what doesn’t seem like an orderly queue.
The article mentions Sunderland as being interested but Arsenal have also been talked of as a likely destination. Then there’s the small matter of the £5m valuation, which would be all of Roy’s transfer budget for January.
UPDATE: Delph’s been charged with drink driving. Stupid boy.
From his recent performances, I would snatch any teams hand off with an offer of 3m+
Coming from someone who’s witnessed him every other week at home, he’s been far from anything he was when he first stepped into the side, not sure whether playing with higher quality players would be certain to bring the best out of him, but I’m guessing it would be a gamble for you.
I am sure most Leeds fans would say if Fabian was to leave they would like rather him play for a team everyones likes like Fulham. I don’t expect him to go and sadly wonderful though your surrounding pubs maybe the chance of Fabian arriving at the Cottage are as high as Harrods becoming a tasteful store in the new year.
Happy new year Cottagers.
