Fulham are the latest club to be linked with a move for Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni after Tottenham and Newcastle were said to be monitoring his situation.

The Cameroon international’s contract with Espanyol runs out at the end of the current season and the club have stated that they have been given no indication he will accept their offer of a new deal.

That would leave Kameni free to talk to other teams and Fulham are said to be keen to try and tempt him to try his luck in the Premier League after sending scouts to watch him, according to Sport.

Tottenham have had maintained an interest in the 24-year-old keeper for many months but, despite the reports, have yet to make an official move to prise him away from the Barcelona-based outfit.

Kameni has said in the past that he would be willing to pen a new deal with Espanyol, but after the first two rounds of talks it was revealed that the two sides’ positions on his salary were some way apart.

Fulham have an outstanding first-choice keeper in Mark Schwarzer, but the Cottagers only have veteran Pascal Zuberbühler as back-up.
