Dan seems to have taken care of the report side of things. There’s not really a lot to add to what he wrote yesterday. Fulham didn’t play the kind of football we were capable of but improved as the match went on. A draw was the fairest result because City were very dangerous on the break – many a time Wright-Phillips was running at us with the ball at his feet my heart was in my mouth.

I thought I’d rate the players and then you guys could have a go in the comments box if you so wish.

Schwarzer: This guy makes such a difference. Could have come for the cross that led to City’s goal and made a risky punch shortly afterwards but you’ve got to take into the account the second half saves he made. Zabaleta’s first shot was creeping in the far corner until the big Aussie tipped it wide. 7

Paintsil: Not his best performance for us. Had to be aware of Ireland on his flank and the presence of the Irishman probably blunted his attempts to get forward. Still get a little nervy when he’s on the ball, but he was solid enough. 6

Konchesky: Did everything he had to well. Dependable but not outstanding. 6

Hangeland: Looked a little gangly when the likes of Wright-Phillips were running at him but was his usual colossal self otherwise. Must have a sore head this morning but headed away loads of crosses. 7

Hughes: Quietly effective. Worried me when he backed away a bit in the first half, but did his job well. Calm and assured he remains a key part of our transformed defence. 7

Bullard: Had his best game for a while I thought. Drifted out to the flanks a bit to collect the ball and made a trademark run to get on the end of Zamora’s flick for the goal. Faded a little later on, but did draw a fine save out of Hart from a free-kick. 8

Murphy: Excellent in an understated way. City’s system meant he was a little more defensively minded than he has been in the past at home, but he had to keep a close eye on Wright-Phillips. His consistency is making those who wondered why he was such a fixture in the team last year look foolish. 7

Dempsey: Clint looks like he’s settled into the side now and produced another good performance yesterday. Gets himself into plenty of good position – witness the two chances he spurned yesterday. Also played a clever ball up to Zamora for the goal. 7

Davies: The big disappointment. Played a lot of sideways passes and seems to be sitting very deep on the left – don’t know whether that’s by design or not. With McBride missing up top he doesn’t seem to have the same effect on the left flank. 5

A. Johnson: Another tireless performance but he didn’t really get much of a sight of goal. Thought he was going to score when he burst clean through on Hart but the goalkeeper did well. Made a couple of chances for Zamora in the second half. 7

Zamora: Thought Bobby was excellent yesterday. His strength to keep possession was incredible. Yes, he might have scored from that second half corner but he did brilliantly to create the goal with that little flick. Get a feeling is that all he needs is a goal now. 8
