I really don’t know what to make of the ongoing Bullard contract nonsense.

On one hand, you’ve got the stories saying that he wants to be rewarded for breaking into the England set-up with a lo9ng-term contract and a wage increase. Then you get stories like this.

Bullard, who is paid £25,000-a-week, has told close friends he is even prepared to cut his wages by £5,000-a-week to remain at the club.

If he is serious about that, then great, you’d have to fancy our chances of keeping him at the club. And, as for not making him an offer yet, I presume they’ll try and do it at some point between now and the end of the summer.

Journalists being journalists they just had to end with this paragraph:

Battling Bullard, 30, caught the eye of Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp again in Friday’s goalless draw, despite having to go off with a dead leg.

Didn’t Harry say he wasn’t interested? Or did I just dream that?
