Fulham are reportedly joining Aston Villa in the race to sign Jaroslav Plasil from Spanish side Osasuna, according to reports.

Czech Republic International Plasil is the latest player to be linked with a move to Villa Park, with it believed that Villans manager Martin O’ Neill has prepared an approach to Los Rojillos to bring the former Monaco player to the Premier League.

However, the Midlands club will face competition from Fulham, who are also interested in the 26-year-old, with the Czech midfielder catching the eye recently with solid performances at EURO 2008.

Plasil has been in England this summer on tour with Osasuna, who played pre-season friendlies against Premiership debutantes Hull and Stoke City.

The midfielder is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League. With a source close to the player confirming the interest from the Villans and the Cottagers.

The source close to Plasil said: “Jaroslav wants to leave Spain and play in the Premiership – and Aston Villa and Fulham are interested.”
