Cardiff City manager Dave Jones wants Fulham striker David Healy in a £1m deal but will need to convince him to drop out of the Premier League.

Fulham are willing to let Healy leave after a summer of rebuilding under Roy Hodgson and there has been tentative contact between the clubs.

But Healy would prefer to stay in the top flight and prove he can mix it with the Premier League’s best defenders.

Transfer rumours have followed the Northern Ireland star striker all summer linking him to various clubs but nothing has transpired so far.
